The Good, The Bad & The WTFugly : WEEK 8

WRITTEN BY: T.I.

In Week Eight, we boldly marched into Detroit's Lion’s Den, heads held high, daring the Lions to take a bite. Spoiler alert: they did. We were decapitated, maimed, and left for dead in a 52-14 slaughter—all while Jared Goff barely passed for 90 yards. Let’s break it all down in this week’s edition of The Good, The Bad, and The WTFugly—or as the cool kids say, #GBWTF.

THE GOOD

CALVIN CAUGHT FEELINGS
Calvin Ridley’s been a magnet for mixed reviews—fair or not—from the minute he signed with the Titans. In recent weeks, he’s been a rollercoaster: mostly cold on the receiving end but hot when it comes to speaking out in the media. Complaining doesn’t do much to help his case, especially when he’s dropping almost everything thrown his way (except a mixtape). But last Sunday? In his first game as our true WR1, Ridley turned it around, snagging 10 catches on a career-high 15 targets for 143 yards. Here’s hoping he keeps it up, Agent Zero!

TONY KEEPS ON TRUCKIN'
Week in and week out, Tony Pollard answers the call like the Ghostbusters. I mean with Tyjae out the last few games, WHO YOU GONNA CALL? This past week, he put up an impressive 4.7 yards per carry, rushing for 94 yards on 20 carries and adding another 23 yards through the air on three receptions. Mighty Mouse now boasts 603 total yards over seven games. While the Titans' season might be steeped in misery, Tony Pollard has been a bright spot on an otherwise inept offense.

ALWAYS BRING PROTECTION
This past Sunday, the Titans did a solid job protecting Mason Rudolph, allowing just one sack all game. Over the last three games, they've only given up four total sacks, bringing the season total to 20 sacks across seven contests—keeping it under three per game. Given how we used to dish out quarterback pressures like Halloween candy, that’s pretty impressive. Now, if only we could get the quarterback play sorted out!

NWI WORLD ORDER
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has now snagged three touchdowns in three straight games. Yep, you heard right. This has got to be some kind of Titans franchise record, right? Someone look that up! I mean, let’s be real—we’re not exactly known for our pass-catching prowess or, well, consistency in general.

THE BAD

ALL OF IT
Yep, last week was a total disaster. Let’s just put it behind us and focus on the Pats. Onward!

BIG PROBLEMS IN LITTLE PLAY CALLING
Coach Callahan needs an offensive coordinator—stat! Sundays are getting rough, and it’s starting to show. When you're on the one-yard line with a timeout and call four straight pass plays, it might be time for some backup reading that play sheet. Just ask Pete Carroll how those pass plays at the one turn out.

LACKADAISICAL D
That top-ranked defense? Yeah, it’s practically an afterthought after last week. Sloppy. Lazy. Way too many missed tackles. They might as well have waved the white flag the second they hit the field. Even Robocop couldn’t help these guys take down the Lions in Detroit.

THE WTFUGLY??!!

Detroit Lions PR Kalif Raymond named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week - Yahoo Sports
Imagine if we had a guy like Kalif Raymond? Oh, wait...

NOT SO SPECIAL TEAMS
What in the ever-living hell was that mess in Detroit? Jared Goff throws for 85 yards, and we still get slaughtered by the Little D. How? Enter Kalif Raymond. He rips off a 90-yard punt return touchdown, racking up 190 yards on just five punt returns, and snagging "NFC Special Teams Player of the Week." As if that wasn’t enough, he grabs two passes for 14 yards and another touchdown. Now that’s a revenge game.

Titans fans. It's now or never. Time to take the plunge.
